dunno if i can, so i thought to ask first.
I have a drawing that i did a while ago, and i had no intention of it been 'achaen' but looking at it now, i can see that it could be.
However, that all depends on how i describe it.
So, basically, Can i ask for help with this?

I thought that was the purpose of this forum...to post up artwork for enjoyment, criticism, etc.

Can't seem to be able to think of where one would have to be to see a view like that?

I think Shallam was always intended to be an Arabian sort of city, AKA Aladdin.
And that looks like a sight from the other side of the bridge, near Jaru or some such.

Shallam is Lut Golhein.

Any where specific Dusty?
And are Arabian cites walled? i always saw them as one huge palace with surrounding houses/buildings out in the dessert.

Actually, I think there are docks on the southeastern side of Shallam... I could be wrong though, and I can't check right now. If that's the case then your view is from the middle of the ocean. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to specifically say where that view would be suited to... maybe from Pash Valley?

Shallam is Lut Golhein.
Lies, Lut Golhein is cool. Shallam is not. Plus, what're you saying?... in the sewers there is an evil creature ready to take over the city?
edit: Great picture though, it looks like a very rough drawing, but you have the texture right on it. I think it's awesome, and if it is deemed "Achaean" enough, I believe you could get some kind of prize, if not you put a great effort into it!

I think what i write as its descriptions is what's gonna make or break this entry.

I can't personally vouch, but do they pay close attention to descriptions? I always felt art should speak for itself, but meh.

It doesn't seem very Achaean to me, it could be any walled city. I would at least try and add some Achaean landmark, something to separate it from the thousands of other places it could be.

That tower could be the basilica!

So did you draw this for Achaea...? You don't seem to have any clue what you intended to do with it, and seems more like you're taking an old picture and trying to find some place it fits.

Isn't the Basilica two towers?

That's what i said in the OP.
its an old picture. if i could find somewhere it fits, that'd be great.
then i could take my time with the other entry i have yet to finish.

Stick some tattoos on the walls.

My advice is to draw something with the intention of it being a distinctly Achaean picture, instead of trying to make that fit, when it could really be anywhere.

It's a city. He should put thousands of totems filling the streets instead.

I really like the drawing, but if you want to win credits you definitely will need to alter it to make it clearly Achaean.

Actually, if you'd have set it in the mountains and take away the docks, it could almost (Key word right there) be Cyrene as well. Just a thought, take it or leave it at your discretion.

http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk33/sa...os/shallam3.jpgAdded in another of those towers, so could be the basilica
Added in a dragon to make it a bit more Achaean. (which doesn't look too proportional..)
And a little photoshop editing to sharpen things up.

Thanks anyways.

Well no one was saying it was crap. We were saying that it's not Shallam, and no amount of dragons in the sky will change that.

Aye... all the copy/paste and clearly not originally-drawn-in-the-picture-dragon just makes it look like you're committing plagiarism.

Throw some tattoos on that dragon.
Also, that picture is pretty awesome. If you drew one of similar quality, but started with an Achaean scene in mind, I think you'd have a damn good shot at winning.

^That. It's a fantastic drawing and I really like it, but I don't think it's distinctively Achaean (and won't be unless you essentially redo it or fill it with crap that doesn't really go in the picture. Dragons just make it a generic fantasy setting. Unless, of course, you put tattoos on them.)
