Hey everyone just figured I'd contribute some of my own stuff here. I have been wanting to get back into some of my art (I'm still quite the amateur) and figured I'd do some tarot stuff, since it's easy to make and recognize. Here is the first of my own renditions of some of the tarot cards.

I know ... tarot cards usually have more colors of ink than just the black. I kept it basic because I wanted to use an already existing symbol for the sun (the circle with the dot inside of it) as part of the design.

Also, featured in the center is a sort of tree-shaped design which is meant to represent the tree Yggdrasil. Yes.. I'm mixing things, I know.

I was actually thinking of doing Tarot cards for the next artisnal! Other than the colors being basic (which i know you said was for a reason) it looks pretty good!
Cieran
It's pretty awesome. Please add color though.

I've made a couple of decks. I only have one card (not even on deck) in digital format right now, though. This one is not commercial, it was for a friend. This is not my favourite card, not ask me why it's the only one I have on disk right now, I don't know.

I wrote a book, too, to go with them. I'm currently making a Tarot deck that is commercial. Flat out commercial to make money - so far I am very happy with the images I am creating. They will have a book to accompany them, too. (No, I don't believe in divination by the way, I am just capitalising on my so-called artistic ability and knowledge of the history of this area.)

ETA: Hey, that's a co-incidence, it The Sun as well.

That's a very nice Sun you've got there! I'm not nearly that good and I'm certainly not good enough to start doing anything for commercial or even simple commissions. I just do things on a whim and because it occurred to me as something fun. It's cool though that you are so involved in it.

Also, for people who wanted to see color:

Yeah, I just threw some stuff together. But atleast it's got color for you people now. Happy?

I don't think it'd do too well in the artisanals... at least not one card, and probably not all of them. It just seems like one of those things that they'd consider 'boring' on their own. Sure, it's cool... but not really something you'd hang in a frame, if you know what I mean. Maybe if you made some sort of scene or such it could work out.

oh... and why the hell was the image reduced in size? The original is not that big...

I'm inclined to agree. *shrug* I considered making some manner of scene, but I suck too much for now.

Also, I'm not sure why it was reduced, both times. Oh well, you can at least still see it by clicking on it.

Trust me -- take the chance and enter. If you don't enter, it's a guaranteed loss. Some of the things I've entered, I've thought didn't have a chance, did fairly well. Other things I thought would do well were lucky if they got a merit.

I knew your name sounded familiar, Vivienne!

If I'm reading the little symbols right, this one got merit.

Clearly, a single tarot card can win -something- wink.gif
Vivienne
Ha ha! That card kind of sucked. I did it on the train going to work, it was kind of bad. laugh.gif Oh well, it earnt me a few credits even if it didn't earn me pride. biggrin.gif

Zintha, yeah, I still need to answer your PM.
