  • Mir if you need the defense to handle the area. It's the worst stance for damage, but if you need the extra tanking power then you're stuck with it anyways.

Arash if you're bashing way under your capability and you can trash the area despite the stance penalties.

    Sanya otherwise.

    Never hunt unstanced.

  • So, I'm only available to play for about an hour or so super early in the states.  I've been debating starting my character over as it was made about 12 years ago and is super old but I've only just remembered about Achaea.  Are there any cities and/or organizations that I can really help out with the limited time I can be online?  Eventually I'll be able to play way more often for short bursts, I have a strange schedule.

I'll quote my new broken record: Cyrene is the place. You can participate in many different manners and levels of engagement, and you have a wide choice of pursuits, any of which are acceptable. So if you want to come in for two hours and basket weave, it's fine! If you want to learn combat, it's fine! If you want to study it's fine!

Nobody will fault you for your choices or your time availabilities.

  • We have chocolate too.  Light chocolate with fire inside.  Okay on second thought don't eat that  :/
Deucalion says, "Torinn is quite nice."
  • As an Apostate, is hunting better with Deadeye 2xBleed or Decay? Does Intelligence/Collars affect Bleed at all, enough to invest in them or just keep to Con spec instead?
  • It'll probably depend on nimble vs qw.
  • Shouldn't it be nimble for combat anyway?
  • Some people still go qw to hunt, etc. Sure, it 'should' be nimble for combat but you have one free trait reset and not everybody decides to start PKing right out of Minia or whenever you get your first trait.

So far, Mhaldor hasn't seemed too bad. I have a very limited play schedule and I've gotten to participate in a couple things, but mostly I've been working on tasks and requirements, so I guess I haven't needed much interaction.

Everyone seems so busy all the time, but that also means I get to be busy when my time comes.
  • HELP SHOP OF WONDERS says the obfuscated crystal vial works with "curative fluids", but I thought they also worked with venoms, and possibly some other liquids, in the past. What liquids do they work with?

  • Not sure it's worth 3 crowns for infinite booze (to me, anyway).

Unrelated to that, another question: Years and years ago, part of the Paladin guild knighting ceremony involved wearing vestments. Does anybody happen to have the description for those?

  • Do the crystal vials really refill alcohol..?

There was an issue 2 wheels ago that you could non-decay/resetting the goblet that gave you fairy nectar and get it free each day for like 100cr... when there was a refilling booze artefact already in the game.  Weird that it'd work with it.
  • I clarified at the time with the admin and they allowed it. I ended up buying the vial as a gift for someone, customising it and seeding it with cognac so as long as he never drank the last sip he'd have a sip a day.

So far as I'm aware, it's just elixirs, salves, and venoms these days.

Penwize pushed to get venoms added back when they were changed from refilling any sort of liquid to just elixirs and salves (and tonics/balms while we had those).

  • Anyone know if it's normal as Infernal dual-cutting, with just basic defences (weathering, grip, putrefaction, soulcage) to be losing half endurance to clear the Siroccians or all Manara levels? If I do both I tend to be like 10% or so endurance left...

DWC has some endurance issues without any lessons in fitness, for some reason... It's the other 3 specs that kinda breeze through everything for hours before noticing much of an endurance loss... Recommend putting like 30-45 lessons into fitness as soon as you can.
  • Sounds cheaper than changing to Dual Blunt, thanks! :grimace:

I'm fairly certain that miniskills and avoidance scale to the # of lessons that you put in, not the skill ranks, so 30-45 lessons will give you a marginal benefit at best despite representing a ton of ranks.
  • Interesting I didn't know that
Deucalion says, "Torinn is quite nice."
  • Correct for miniskills (so 45 lessons in fitness will give a 6.5% regen boost, for an average of about 584 extra endurance per hour), but avoidance's dodging bonus is based on rank. Avoidance's damage reduction may be based on lessons though.
  • Oh my, suddenly 694 is bad compared to 100 and more intimidating weapons... :scream:
  • What does the Miniature lightning rod artefact actually do? Any specifics on how it works / what it affects?
  • @Nicola @Makarios When new class artefacts were announced, the post said there were artefacts still upcoming for a couple of other classes (Shaman and Priest, maybe a few others). Are there still plans for those or have they been abandoned? Or did I just miss them among the new non-class specific artefacts?

I don't recall ever having endurance problems bashing as dual cutting, even before I had artefacts or lessons to spare for Fitness, but I also wasn't hunting for long periods when I was lower levels. I don't know what level you are right now, but it may just be an issue because your endurance pool is small, and therefore each doubleslash (20 endurance each) is taking a larger percentage of the total.

Alternatively you're using Fury, and that's doubling the endurance cost of doubleslash (but may not double the costs on other specialisation attacks).
  • Don't have fury yet. Got 14 constitution at level 75. 1.5 hour hunting, left at 3% endurance, spent 35 mins sleeping with fully fit...   I was told it gets better after 80 so I guess I'll keep on going till then.
  • KyrraKyrra Australia
I think 84 to 90 is super awful and it gets a lot better after that. 80 is just awesome because you no longer waste time eating or sleeping.

Got an ETA still coming last I asked, which was maybe half a month ago. I'm still holding out as well.
  • Shaman artefact that makes Kosuira not affect the user or allies.
