Artifact reactions when worn.

edited May 2015 in North of Thera
I could easily do this through triggers but I think there would be some good role play benefits to having artifacts come with standard reactions to worn artifacts, even if only visible to the wearer.

For instance, when putting on dex boots instead of it just saying that you put on the boots it would display something about how you feel lighter on your feet and more agile as you slip them on or when you put on gauntlets of strength you feel your skin tighten as blood flows through your muscles. Maybe not all artifacts would be candidates for this, but some would definitely be great candidates.

What are your thoughts? Any suggestions?

  • TharvisTharvis The Land of Beer and Chocolate!
you could always customise these reactions on them if you felt inclined
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!"
Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh."
Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

  • simple trigger, and emote.
  • I have reactions like this on some of my artefacts, just to give a rough idea of what the artefact actually does since there's no way for other people to tell which ring is which when I lend them out.

I wouldn't be against standard reactions like that being added, as long as they didn't interfere with the ones I already paid 25 credits to have added.

  • I thought this was talking about my reaction the first time you wear an artifact.

  • Here's some of mine, maybe it will inspire somebody.

    Mana regen:

You are now wearing a crimson falcon ring.
A soothing sensation fills your mind as you slip the ring onto your finger, your mental reserves
    replenishing themselves more rapidly.

    Health regen:
You are now wearing a mithril swordsman's band.
You feel vital lifeblood pumping more vigorously through your veins as the ring slips into place
    upon your finger.

Armband of celerity (extra movement per second):
You are now wearing a mithril armband.
As you move the armband into place around your bicep, your muscles begin to twitch rapidly and you
feel capable of moving more swiftly.

    Con belt:

You are now wearing a gold-buckled sword belt of white leather.
Your physical endurance levels rise as you buckle the sword belt about your waist.

    Strength gauntlets:
You are now wearing a pair of resplendent white enamelled plate gauntlets.
You feel a surge of extraordinary power course through you, and you clench your fists inside the
gauntlets as you marvel at your new-found strength.

    Bracelets (increased health and mana):
You are now wearing a pair of intricately runed gold bracelets.
As you clasp the bracelets around your wrists you feel a surge of physical and mental energy flow
    through you.
