That was much more restrained than I expected.  Sena continues to be a pillar of Achaean niceness and a numbers goddess. If ascension were still possible,  she should definitely be the goddess of Math. Thank you for all of your years of supplying us with useful information and formulas.  I quote your numbers like they are straight up biblical.

Edit: @Ernam will also attest to dex effecting garrote, since he tested it on anarchaea,  if I remember correctly.

Sena encounters hyperbole and anecdotal evidence.

  • @Cobault, @Sena is pretty much the epitome of mathematical knowledge within the Achaean community.  You're legitimately arguing with the one person we all summon when we need to know something like this.

Check out the other threads, broheim.  It's all been laid out in splendid details.

I said I was done with this. Why tag me?

I'm only annoyed because I just issued myself over this last week, and got my reply from administration itself telling me everything on the points I've argued.
But if a player fellow adventurer person that isn't IRE staff tells me I'm wrong about something technical, then they must be right, because math.

^If that isn't Achaean logic I really don't know wtf is. Done again. For good. Ffs.

You'll find that often times, unless Makarios has stated it is a fact, the administration don't have all the answers when it comes to the nitty-gritty combat stuff.  It's no slight to them, mind you.  They do, after all, have a massive plate in front of them.  Combat mechanics is such a small portion of this plate that it's a wonder how they ever get anything done balance-wise.

Let him go, even if Sarapis, @Tecton, @Makarios, and Clementius back from retirement all got together and posted on these forums to say that dex affects garrote speed, he'd only be reduced from bullheadedly against the idea to merely skeptical.

Edit: Tagged a coule, just in case they want to come and defend Sena's honor.
  • @Cobault Can you please provide the issue you did with the admin, including the your issue and their exact response?

Maybe it is just a little miscommunication.

Dexterity does not affect garrote balance against adventurers.
Dexterity does affect garrote balance against denizens.

Me with 16 dex against denizens: https://ada-young.appspot.com/pastebin/ee177c67 average of 1.97s balance.
Me with 13 dex against denizens: https://ada-young.appspot.com/pastebin/fb886175  average of 2.4s balance.

Me with 16 dex against adventurer:  https://ada-young.appspot.com/pastebin/f0301597 average of 2.6s balance.
Me with 13 dex against adventurer:https://ada-young.appspot.com/pastebin/69933e00  average of 2.6s balance.

I also said that in the beginning.
