It looks pretty, I give you that. But... I am curious as to how someone would actually... wear that. It seems a bit.. uncomfortable.

And you won't understand the cause of your grief...

...But you'll always follow the voices beneath.

There's a silk underlay. The boughs don't touch the wearer at all.

Actually saw this at a recent wedding. The girls in them looked SO amazing.
  • No one's done any cooking yet! Here's my first attempt basically ever.

    Appearance:
a dainty dessert sandwich of raspberries and chocolate
    Dropped:
A dessert sandwich is here, wrapped in paper for safety.
    Examined:
A pair of delicate wafers play host to thinly sliced chocolate discs between them. A simple raspberry sauce pours over the chocolate and soaks into the wafers, colouring the entire sandwich a pinkish-red colour.
    First Eaten:
A gush of raspberry sauce fills your mouth as you bite into the wafers, soon replaced with the taste of chocolate.
    Third Eaten:
The smell of raspberries fill the air as $eater quickly devours their dessert sandwich.
    Taste:
tastes strongly of raspberries with a chocolate aftertaste.
    Smell:
    has a sweet raspberry scent.

  • Appearance:
a plate of strawberry whipped cream covered fish eyes
    Dropped:
A plate of gelatinous fish eyes sits here, covered in pink cream
    Examined:
Half a dozen large fish eyes, the size of a sovereign each, rest on a
plate. Cold and dead, the eyes would look up from their gelatinous final
rest were it not for the strawberry cream layered over each eye. A small
dollop of the sweet whipped substance covers each ocular treat, just
enough to cover up the pupil yet not enough to mask the taste of the
    globular snacks.
    First Eaten:
Sweetness mixes with gelatinous salt as you finish off this plate of
    eyeballs.
    Third Eaten:
An unpleasant squelching sound fills the air as $Eater finishes off a
    plate of fish eyes.
    Taste:
    of salt and strawberries.
    Smell:
    of fish and strawberries.
    Ingredients:
    Milk, sugar, fruit, fish

    Appearance:
a platter of chocolate drizzled mango and potato sticks
    Dropped:
Steam rises from this discarded platter of potatoes and mango.
    Examined:
Fried to a golden crisp, julienned potatoes fill this platter. A light
brushing of sea salt coats each stick. Orange medallions of mango
intersperse among the aureate spuds. Each medallion bears the tell-tale
signs of being fried, a slight blackening around the edges and a soft
glaze of their own sugary juices. Topping it all off, a drizzle of dark
chocolate covers the platter, adding an extra sweetness to the tuber's
    saltiness.
    First Eaten:
Taking a bite of the potato sticks fills your mouth with the sweet and
salty flavour which lasts long after you finish off this platter.
    Third Eaten:
$eater quickly polishes off a platter of chocolate drizzled potatoes and
    mangos.
    Taste:
of a delicate balance of sweet and salty.
    Smell:
strongly of fried potatoes with a hit of chocolate and mangos.
    Ingredients:
    chocolate, vegetables, fruit, oil, salt

    Appearance:
a plate of noodles and salmon coated in a chicken and lemon sauce
    Dropped:
A dish of fish and noodles is in danger of being ruined here.
    Examined:
A generous filet of salmon rests atop a bed of long, thin noodles. The
entire dish finds itself coated in a chicken broth reduction sauce, with
small peels of lemon zest and flakes of pepper adding extra colour.
    First Eaten:
The flavour of salmon and chicken touches on your taste buds as you eat,
lemon and pepper combining with both to complement the meal.
    Third Eaten:
$eater takes $eater_his time working through way through the generous
portion of salmon and pasta on their plate.
    Taste:
of salmon and chicken with a subtle lemon and pepper edge.
    Smell:
strongly of fish and poultry with just a hint of lemon and pepper.
    Ingredients:
    poultry, fish, pasta, lemon, spices

    Appearance:
a platter of make-your-own cocktail sandwiches
    Dropped:
Various sandwich ingredients cover this discarded platter.
    Examined:
Small grooves cover a clear square plate of glass, creating a separation
between the ingredients laid out atop it. In one corner, a small pile of
crunchy biscuits draws the eye with thinly sliced pieces of green olives
baked in. Small slices of ham and cheese fill the last two sections. The
smoked ham bears a salty flavour, just right to complement the creamy
    white cheese paired with it.
    First Eaten:
After meticulously constructing your ideal sandwiches, you quickly
    devour your masterpieces.
    Third Eaten:
$eater takes a few moments to craft $eater_his own cocktail sandwiches
from a platter filled with ingredients before quickly finishing them
    off.
    Taste:
of salty ham, mild cheese, and olives.
    Smell:
strongly of salted ham with a trace of olives
    Ingredients:
    olives, dough, meat, cheese, salt

    Appearance:
a plate of baked chicken, fried potatoes, and spicy peppers
    Dropped:
A plate of chicken and peppers sits here, steam rising off the dish.
    Examined:
A bed of lettuce fills the centre of this plate, topped with spicy,
multi-coloured peppers. Resting on those, a succulent, baked chicken
breast, coated generously in spicy seasonings takes centre stage.
Circling the edges, medallions of fried potatoes complete the dish, each
    lightly salted for added flavour.
    First Eaten:
Alternating between spicy chicken and peppers, you take some bites of
the lettuce and spuds to cool your mouth as you clear your plate.
    Third Eaten:
The smell of potatoes and peppers fill the air as $eater works through
    his plate of chicken.
    Taste:
    extremely spicy.
    Smell:
strongly of fried potatoes and chicken.
    Ingredients:
    poultry, vegetables, spices

    Appearance:
strawberry-coated ice cream topped with meringue in a cup
    Dropped:
A small cup sits here, the ice cream inside in danger of melting.
    Examined:
A wide, low-brimmed, and translucent glass curls around a small sphere
of ice cream coated in thing, triangular slices of strawberries. Atop
the ball rests another globe of white meringue ran through with pink
    raspberry sauce.
    First Eaten:
Raspberry and strawberry mix with the vanilla ice cream as you work at
finishing off your treat before it melts.
    Third Eaten:
$eater take one small spoonful after another of ice cream, strawberries,
and meringue until $eater_his cup is empty.
    Taste:
    of fruit and cream
    Smell:
    of fruit and cream
    Ingredients:
    Fruit, milk, sugar

Everything for the cooking path except the finale. I'm pretty happy with most of it.

an unyielding, obsidian blindfold with two buckles
    Dropped (long_desc)
An oddly-contorted leather blindfold lies abandoned here.
    Examined (extended_desc)
Dyed a midnight black, this hardened piece of leather almost gleams with the dull lustre of obsidian as it loops and criss-crosses about the wearer's visage. Upon its surface, the lightly tooled intimations of a myriad symbols from disparate religions, all pertaining to sight and insight, have been combined with haphazard artistic vision, only to be appreciated when the light hits at the right angle. Holding all in place, twin elaborate buckles of reddened silver and sharpened steel rest at the level of the cheeks, each allowing for some small measure of adjustment in the overall fit while ensuring the curious garment does not stray unbidden away from the covered eyes, nor is taken off lightly.

And you won't understand the cause of your grief...

...But you'll always follow the voices beneath.

  • Honestly... I haven't really designed much. I've been sticking to a wing customisation I want to get, but it'll be a while before I can afford it.

Next thing I do is a food design that @Dairune asked for. Almost done with it!

For some reason,  I feel like that oddly-contorted blindfold is going on an oddly-contorted person.

    Wing customisation you say?

intricately carved wings of living ice

Surrounded by a pool of crystal-clear water, an intricate carving of the wings of an immense dragon lies here, gently melting.

Droplets of crystal-clear water constantly drip from the base of this intricate carving of the wings
of an immense dragon, rendered into living ice. Veins of mithril course through the carving, gently
glowing as the light refracts off the multifaceted surface. The word 'Duanathar' is picked out in
    sapphires of the deepest blue.

Tharos, the Announcer of Delos shouts, "It's near the end of the egghunt and I still haven't figured out how to pronounce Clean-dat-hoo."
  • @Klendathu Mine are actually fire and water, but yours are awesome. I'm at that awkward point in which I look at a design and wonder 'am I done? Is there something wrong with it?'

It's not like I can actually customise it right now! I'm broke!

I'm at that point from the moment I finish the first draft to the moment the customisation is actually applied to the item, then I always feel like maybe I should have worded things slightly differently after that too.

In preparation for the Knight changes and switching weapons, I designed a scimitar:

APPEARANCE: a gleaming scimitar with a hilt of ivory

DROPPED: Its ivory hilt covered in grime, a gleaming scimitar has been thrown aside.

EXAMINED: The long, subtly curving blade of this scimitar has been forged from the finest of steel. Increasing in width approximately two-thirds down the back edge of the blade, it tapers off again as the forward cutting edge curves up to meet it at an excruciating point. Razor sharp along the full length of the forward and the last third of the back edges, it is intended for both slashing and thrusting attacks. Pristine ivory has been used to fashion the hilt, the splendour of the material offset by the otherwise plain design. Shallow grooves have been made in the grip to ensure a secure hold even when coated in blood and sweat. A simple S-shaped cross guard protects the wielder’s hand and wrist. An image of a dragon, glowing with a soft silver light, has been engraved into one side of the blade just above the hilt. An engraving of a phoenix that radiates a muted red glow mirrors it on the blade’s opposite side.

Just have to decide what other weapons I'll be using (probably battleaxes, unless they provide some mechanism for switching specs without paying lessons every time), design those, then re-design scabbards. :|

QFT. I still feel that way about my shield and staff.

    a recent gift-design

    Appearance (short_desc)
a steel tiara emblazoned with a marquise ruby
    Dropped (long_desc)
A steel tiara lies here, marquise ruby vibrant against an obsidian backdrop.
    Examined (extended_desc)
Composed of blackened steel, this tiara thins out slightly towards the sides. On either end there is a silver harp carefully embedded with an engraved woman next to both, hands carefully etched on the harp's strings mid-motion. Departing from the harp and flitting along the field of the tiara are a multitude of obsidian notes, coalescing in the centre of the tiara to encompass a single marquise ruby.

a silken red admiral butterfly dress

    dropped
A pile of of silks lie here forming a red admiral butterfly dress.

    examined
Diaphanous black silk forms the body of this luxurious dress. The bateau neckline and a-line skirt creates a modest design, while remaining comfortable and flowing. The arms and legs from the knee down are bare, while the hems make the dress demure. Two small bracelets of black silk ribbon wrap comfortably around the wrists, attached to fluid red silk, bordered with the black silk that makes up the body of the dress. When the arms raise, the red silk expands out, showing lovely butterfly wings that were hidden within the folds of silk. Clear sequins along the dress create intricate patterns, adding sparkle to the already lustrous silks when the wearer moves.

  • TharvisTharvis The Land of Beer and Chocolate!
aaand these just got approved :

    Appearance (short_desc)

an azure fedora hat sporting an eagle feather

    Dropped (long_desc)

An azure hat has been carelessly thrown into a corner here.

    Examined (extended_desc)

Crafted from the tanned hide of a fallen blue dragon, the scales that compose this hat have been carefully sanded back to take on an azure hue with a one-inch band of silver dyed along the base of the crown. Sporting a wide, straight brim that extends about four inches out from the crown, the left side of the hat is thinner as to give it a floppy appearance, while the right side has been stiffened to flip up. Cradled inbetween the right flap and the hat's tip is an obsidian eagle's feather to give the wearer a roguish appearance. Inside the hem of the lining the crafter's mark is carefully embroidered, a silver falcon.

    Appearance (short_desc)

an azure cape of spider silk

    Dropped (long_desc)

An azure cape lies here, crumpled in a corner

    Examined (extended_desc)

Woven from the spider silk only the Arachnoi of the Darkenwood can produce and dyed an azure colour, this cape is slim and flows smoothly down to hover just above the ankles. Draped about the shoulders but not being wide enough to cover them, this cape is supported at the neckline which rests at the base of the throat, comfortably held together by a simple silver clasp. The fabric is thin enough to allow the wind to toy with it, giving the wearer a somewhat careless appearance. On the silver clasp the crafter's mark is carefully etched and outlined with obsidian to render it visible, a silver falcon.

    Appearance (short_desc)

a long-sleeved casual shirt of azure silk

    Dropped (long_desc)

A shirt of azure silk lies here, forgotten in a nearby corner.

    Examined (extended_desc)

Woven from the spider silk only the Arachnoi of the Darkenwood can produce and dyed an azure colour, this long-sleeved collared shirt fits comfortably on the wearer. Sporting no buttons to close the shirt, it instead gives the impression of a V-line collar by folding the fabric over itself, the end of the collar signified by a single knot at the base of the sternum. Inside the hem of both wrists the crafter's mark is embroidered, a silver falcon.

    Appearance (short_desc)

azure trousers of sanded-down blue dragon scales

    Dropped (long_desc)

A pair of azure trousers lies in a nearby corner, forgotten.

    Examined (extended_desc)

Crafted from the tanned hide of a fallen blue dragon, the scales that compose these trousers have been carefully sanded back to take on an azure hue. The waist of the trousers sits above the wearer's hips, sporting belt loops of unsanded scales. The hem of each pant leg is also unsanded, reinforced for durability without hindering comfort. Inside the hem of the waistband the crafter's mark has been embroidered, a silver falcon.

Third painting in the series depicting the history of the Curia (we're up to the wartime years now):

Shrouded in black silk, a painting rests here on an inconspicuous easel.

Shrouded in a swathe of black silk that hangs loosely around its unframed corners, a scene of warfare spreads across the shadowy surface of this canvas. At the centre, a megalithic obsidian pyramid looms, its form crumbling into dust. Streams of ominous, violet energy writhe and twist out in tongues of liquid shadow from the tetrahedron toward a tribal force gathered nearby. Amid the pulsing Darkfire, two vicious hounds attempt to trample a coiled, gold viper beneath their mighty paws as its fanged head darts out to bite them.

  • I have plenty of stuff to post here, but I can't until Logosmas is over :(. I guess I could post up my new gear I've got ready for when knight changes drop when I get home,  though.

  • ShirszaeShirszae Santo Domingo
Don't worry, @Trey, I am going to commission you an armour description for Shirsz and you can post it here. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

And you won't understand the cause of your grief...

...But you'll always follow the voices beneath.

  • I don't have the appearance or dropped... but this was the second draft of the wings I wanted that turned out to be too magical:

Shaped like magnificent swallowtail butterfly wings, this pair is held securely to the wearer's back by sparkling silk sashes; the right sash is fiery red with hints of gold, while the left is a calming ocean blue, mixed with silver and light sea-green threads. Above the right sash, brilliant wings of fire form the shape of butterfly wings, the flames frozen in place though still flickering slightly. The top half of the wing is fairly large, the flames blazing skywards while the bottom is half its size, the brilliant flames unnaturally rolling towards the ground. At the centre, separating yet connecting each wing, is an intricately detailed selily of sterling silver, covered with a dusting of diamonds. The left wing is translucent and solid where the right was resplendent and ethereal, while roughly the same size, water flows in waves within it at a peaceful pace. Its edges curve with subtle waves along them, with shades of blue and green and small flakes of silver swirl within the solid form, shimmering with consistent, slow movement, like waves in the ocean. Embroidered with silver silk, flowing lettering spells out "Duanathar", the word of power, upon each strap.

This is what the awesome @Madelyne did for me:

swallowtail wings reminiscent of fire and the sea

Swallowtail wings lying here looks like flames rising from a pool of sea water.

Sparkling silk sashes securely hold this magnificent pair of swallowtail butterfly wings to the wearer's back. The right sash is fiery red with hints of gold, while the left is the calming blue of the ocean entertwined with silver and pale, sea-green threads. Transparent silk the colour of fire forms the wing above the right sash, the material cut in a way that gives the illusion that the flames flicker slightly. Although the inferno blazes skyward, the bottom of the wing is half its size with a brilliant conflagration that unnaturally rolls toward the ground. An intricately detailed selily of sterling silver covered with a dusting of diamonds is a segue, connecting the two halves despite forging a clear boundary between them. Where the right wing is resplendant and ethereal, the left is a translucent copy that roughly mimics the size and shape of its counterpart. Crystalline silk resembles waves that ebb and flow in a peaceful tide. The delicate edges of the wing curve and curl to create a subtle ocean pattern in shades of blue and green, and minuscule fragments of silver flake woven to give the impression that it swirls within the solid form. Silver silk embroidered along each strap spells out the word "Duanathar" in flowing script.
Thank you SO much to @Taraus and @Blujixapug and everyone else that tried to help me <3

Honestly, I would say to email them instead of doing IG if you're doing something like that to see if you'll work with them. To me, it doesn't make sense because of a Shield I did for @Yerf (seriously, ish insane. Basically 5 Shields in one)... meh, at least I have wings. They've been on my wish list for ages.

Oh, I will be. No way to submit the entire thing through the in game customisation process. Potentially too many reactions involved, including different descriptions based on whether or not they're actually being worn, and possibly a few other things (dragonform might be a factor, if possible). Cost may end up being prohibitive, and I'd like to buy a second pet (with two or three custom attack messages, so also expensive as hell...) first.

A plate of what appears to be chocolate chip cookies lies here in danger.
    examined:
A large plate of steaming hot cookies rests here, small brown dots of flavour suggesting chocolate chips. Upon closer examination, the cookie's rough exterior clearly stems from the use of oatmeal in the recipe and the dots do not melt. Instead, they sit proudly, little raisins teasing you with what could have been.
