  • And about fire, if someone is burning doesn't additional fire damage do more or something?
Also, doesn't green breath give double loki or something? Anyone know?
I like my steak like I like my Magic cards: mythic rare.
  • No.

    No.

    Yes.

  • My questions weren't itemized, Miz. I don't know what you're answering.
I like my steak like I like my Magic cards: mythic rare.
  • No, but you did ask three of them. I interpreted that as no to extra fire damage to someone already ablaze, no to double loki from green dragon breath, yes to someone knowing.
  • And about fire, if someone is burning doesn't additional fire damage do more or something? No, it doesn't
Also, doesn't green breath give double loki or something? No, it doesn't
Anyone know? Yes, I [Mizik] know, and just answered
  • So, aflame is basically a useless affliction.

  • Has deafness always come up a random amount of time after eating hawthorn/calamine? I thought I remembered it being a fixed time but now that I am testing I am getting numbers from 2.3-4.5 seconds.

AFAIK, it's fixed ~3s, but haven't tested in great detail.
  • It doesn't seem to be lag, because everything else is going through fine, and I am holding down enter to get prompts and I am getting 1.8-4.5 seconds.
  • .its random. The lowest I've ever gotten matches your 1.8, but the highest ive seen was only3.9
    image
  • Is that new? I don't remember it being that way.
  • I've tested it before, something like 6 months ago or so I guess? There were more than a few people surprised to hear it, so perhaps it was implemented not too long before that. Can't say for sure though.

    It's been random for years.

I always thought it was a fixed time too, but I have logs as old as 2006 showing that it was random.
  • Deafness on a fixed timer would completely contradict the Achaean paradigm of making bard absurdly complicated for no reason.

Been random for the years I've been bard.

                   Party right, party hard,

                                            Sing and dance, perfect bard.

                                                                     Prefarar loop, accentato whore,

Buy a new rapier, get nerfed some more.

  • Ok, so if deafness time from hawthorn is random, is it the same (random) range of times for the Deaf ability in Shindo (and I think a couple other skillsets)? From my (brief) testing, I've always thought hawthorn was ~3s and Deaf was ~5s, but maybe I was just thrown off by randomness in both?
  • I only tested shindo blind/deaf maybe 3 times each, but they were 6 seconds every time. Same for kaido blind/deaf.

From my testing blind is considerably shorter than deaf (consistent with bayberry being instant and hawthorn being a few seconds). Again, very limited testing, but what sticks in my head is ~3s for blind and ~5s for deaf. Maybe I'll get up the patience to test a bit more carefully.

Edit: Didn't really answer that in the context of the previous posts. 6s sounds like the right ballpark (though I thought more like 5) for deaf, but I remember blind being shorter. Either way both abilities are considerably slower than the respective herbs, right?
  • Looked through my logs, shindo blind and deaf were both 6 seconds and not random, at least from January 2010 to October 2011. Though I don't have milliseconds enabled for most of the timestamps.

    Apostate questions.

Does int effect Sap and if so how much so does it effect it?
Would Nimble or Quick-witted be better, Seems Evileye is a 1.8 Second balance not sure about deadeyes. while the more equib using skills are alot higher of a balance.
Does Dexterity effect hunt a great deal?

    Also does int effect leech?

  • edited February 2013
deadeyes is almost exactly 2 seconds with nimble (actually insignificantly more).

                   Party right, party hard,

                                            Sing and dance, perfect bard.

                                                                     Prefarar loop, accentato whore,

Buy a new rapier, get nerfed some more.

If apostate sap is anything like priest sap (I don't know why they would implement it differently), then nothing increases the amount of mana it drains beyond the base formula. It's a flat amount plus a percentage, IIRC 100 + 10% of max.
  • Sap not affected by int.

Nimble affects Deadeyes. Quick witted will affect Sap and bashing. In combat also lets you web/trample (who doesn't have buckawns?) and opens up some interesting strategies. So really up to you to decide.

Dex affecting daegger is not important. Shield is OP.

    Never tested leech.

I prefer quick witted as apostate..sap more brutal. Locking effectiveness unchanged
