Could just band it until you decide you want something more fitting to your character. They can be removed and put on another sword pretty easily.

Could just be chance: the new one is Abominations, rather than Abomination.  I wouldn't be surprised if there's a list of first words, a list of second words, and the combination is checked against all previous blade names (and a new one generated if necessary) - it just happens that both Abomination and Abominations are on the second list.

So I've just been kind of having fun trying out blade names while I've been saving up for Magi. Except now, I kind of want to spend credits just to keep this blade for RP reasons. Exempting perhaps pewter (which I'm sure I could find an interesting reason for if I try), everything else really fits in very well.

You look over at Waking Eyes being worn by Bokuden and see:

into the metal. The narrow tang is encased by a grip of burgundy sharkskin in an
intricate diamond pattern. Rounding off the grip is a pyramidal pommel fashioned

Bokuden frowns at Waking Eyes.

Bokuden says to Kavaya, "Can I have a different sword?"

Atalkez digs his hand into the soil, gathering a handful of dark ash.

Lady Madelyne Jinx, Literary Vigilante says, "Figuratively speaking."

Bokuden gets some gold sovereigns from a canvas backpack.

Atalkez gives a handful of black ash to Bokuden.

Atalkez waves his hand dismissively.

voice, "Keep your gold."

Atalkez grasps the hilt of Waking Echo with a vengeful expression.

assembling his tools.

Bokuden says, "This is pretty exciting."

Murad exclaims, "I give you Patient Echoes!"

You look over at Patient Echoes being worn by Bokuden and see:
Forged from a blued alloy of the finest steel and bronze, this blade exhibits a
sharp curve along its length, accentuated by a deep groove carved into the
metal. The thick tang is encased by a grip of burgundy cotton in an intricate
cross-hatch pattern. Rounding off the grip is a pyramidal pommel fashioned from
onyx, affording perfect balance to this masterfully crafted weapon.

Bokuden blinks incredulously at Patient Echoes.

Bokuden says, "I guess it will do for now."

The coincidence is not lost on me that Atalkez has Waking Echo, and Bokuden has now gone through a "Waking" sword, and an "Echoes" sword.

@Watchman already forged the sword that would've 100% locked me into blademaster as a class, so I've taken to playing with blade names for funsies. Today's:

It is sort of amusing, I suppose, how I ended up with the sword @Taraus is referring to. Since picking up Blademaster I have been trying every damn day to get one that was not just reasonable but -right-, and although I have had a few that got a little close, overwhelmingly they were bad (hello Baleful Bass). Taraus grabbed Blademaster to provide me with extra ashes to speed the process up.

As the (daily) ritual went - I gathered all the materials and returned to Murad. I don't even remember what he gave me but it was not remotely good, and so it was humgii'd. Bowing to Kavaya a second time, I was given the list of what I needed - if I recall correctly it was cinnabar, a lump of gold and ashes. Cinnabar can be a real pain, and after a little while that we both spent hunting for the piece of it, Taraus came across a piece. Then the blacksmith checking began in earnest - and again, she found the lump of gold.

She then went and gathered the ashes and brought all the pieces back to me. This was the -only- time in twenty or thirty attempts I had made that she gathered -every- piece. Murad worked away, and then provided me with:
