Vanillaforums SSL error

edited September 2012 in North of Thera
Once in a while, when I click on a forum link, I get redirected to a Google SSL warning page. This is what it says:

This is probably not the site you are looking for!
You attempted to reach forums.achaea.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as*.vanillaforums.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version offorums.achaea.com.
You should not proceed, especially if you have never seen this warning before for this site.

Is this normal?

  • I've gotten that a few times as well, I just ignore it.

Yeah I get it too, but I just ignore it like it was a speed "limit" sign.

I recall reading about a recent update to IE or Windows and SSL certificate requirements. It could be that the Vanilla Forums software hasn't updated the SSL certificate to match, yet.
